Dear BJ,

I want to begin this letter by thanking you first for convincing Laurie, as I’m sure you did, that I was the right person to hire at the time, so many years ago. Without your stamp of approval, he might never have seen what I could bring to the table, as it were, and I really appreciate the chance to work with you guys.

Imagine my surprise at not only being hired to work alongside you, but to be included into the family, where even to this day, I feel welcome. Thank you for that. I appreciate the prayers you prayed for me and my kids, I knew you understood the struggle having brought three up by yourself, yet I had help t least!

I thank you also for your continued friendship long after the job was over for me, it’s so great to have you still my friend after all these years, even after Laurie passed. I’m so sorry I was not there for you. I know you are still not over losing him and never will be, but I am here for you if you need me now. It means so much to me that you feel you can count on me if need be.

I appreciate the lunches you’ve bought, and the time you’ve spent with me, we really need to go again soon and next time, it’s my treat. I’ll be bringing home a paycheck pretty soon and will again be able to afford the occasional meal out. Join me when the time comes, won’t you?

Finally, I love all the cards, notes, and phone calls just for nothing other than to check up on me and make sure I’m doing ok. I worry about you too and always look forward to the next time we get to visit. See you soon, love you Beej!
