I’m dealing with the same thing, Tim. It is scary and what’s worse, the audiologist I went to made me feel like it’s a mental issue, rather than a physical one. Wtf? I discovered through research that I have tinnitus, acute hyperacusis, and misophonia…that feeling you described that makes you want to punch someone because the noise physically hurts your eardrums. Not many people are sympathetic to my problem, including my husband, because they cannot comprehend it.

Good luck, I hope you find an answer soon!
