I’m just now seeing this piece Frank, but I’m glad I did! The “gurus” got to me too, thing is, it did help me write faster, if not necessarily better. Problem is, I have enough guilt about other things, last thing I need is to feel guilty if I don’t write everyday, but I do! Mine comes from the fact that I don’t work-in-the-real-world anymore, so I feel compelled to make something happen with my writing. Unfortunately, I haven’t made much in the four or five years I’ve been writing, and my husband is feeling overwhelmed. We are going through a rough patch financially and although I will still write, I’m going to have to go back to work to help pay the bills. I keep getting rejections one after another, yet I keep writing anyway. Maybe a break is just what I need.
